DOT Mandated Compliance

The Federal Transit Authority’s (FTA) purpose is to ensure safety in public transportation. FTA regulates public buses, subways, and light rail. Employees of public transportation vehicles are required to participate in a DOT mandated FTA drug and alcohol testing program. • Operate a non-revenue service vehicle, when required to be operated by a holder of a Commercial Driver's License
  • Control dispatch or movement of a revenue service vehicle
  • Maintain (including repairs, overhaul and rebuilding) a revenue service vehicle or equipment used in revenue service

Every employer has the responsibility to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all of its employees.

Employers are responsible to comply with the 49CFR Part 40 and 49 CFR Part 655 of the DOT Regulations for company mandated FTA drug and alcohol testing program.
